Thanks for tuning in!
Likely you are one of the following three people: my mother, my sister-in-law or my dear buddy Emily. If you happen to be someone beyond this trinity, I'll attempt a lightening round recap on how we got to where we are today...
March 28, 1981 - Carolyn makes her debut. Frequent comments include - lumpy head, yellow, caveman toes.
June 10, 1981 - Josh enters the picture. According to his mother, he was perfect in every way and continues to be (I don't necessarily disagree).
August 2002 - Speed up a few years, a bit of good fortune and a college housing lottery system have Josh and Carolyn living next door in senior campus apartments.
October 2, 2002 - First date.
December 22, 2006 - Proposal.
May 10, 2008 - Wedding.
January 2010 - The baby chase begins.
Getting pregnant, is in fact, a whole lot more difficult than it's made out to be in 6th grade health class. The next two years consists of a uterus as fertile as the Sahara, lots of blood work, acupuncture, Chinese herbal teas, daily temp readings, a lost pregnancy, bountiful tears and a lot of prayers.
December 24, 2011 - Christmas Eve, a positive pregnancy test and some very elaborate non-drinking cover up.
August 2012 - 3 glorious trimesters of the easiest pregnancy on record. Then, as life would have it, everything speeds up quite a bit! During the home stretch, the final 4 weeks - A new job for Josh, relocate to Philly, move into a townhouse sight unseen, a new doctor, a new hospital, a to-do list 60+ items long, packing, unpacking, all culminating in the best day of our lives and a whole new adventure as a family.
August 23, 2012 - We welcome the most gorgeous baby in the world (ok, I'm a little biased here). Chase Douglas Lofgren makes his grand entrance at 8:11am in the morning, weighing in at 7 pounds 13 ounces and 20 inches long.
