1) He has made amends with his arch nemesis the automobile. He is actually chill and content in the car now! Aside from napping, this has made the biggest impact in momma satisfaction! That means that our world has now expanded beyond a 2 mile radius of our house. I don't cringe every time I hear the click of the car seat. And the condo doesn't resemble a prison anymore.
2) The roll over! He may be small, but he's still mighty. This week Chase managed to flip from back to front. Tummy time is now his far preferred position. And for some strange reason he's forgotten how to flip himself back to his back, despite mastering that skill months ago.
Right after he flipped himself. Not sure who was more shocked, me or him.
3) Bed time just got a bit scarier. Now that he can roll himself over in his crib, I'm paranoid of his breathing. I swear he is secretly saying... 'look at me mom, i'm face planted in the mattress and covering my oxygen path with my blankie, what are you going to do about it??' I think in the long run, this may help him sleep longer, but for right now its just a new distraction from falling asleep.
4) Mr grabby. He has now figured out that he can reach, grab, feel and explore with his hands. This means a lot of slaps across my face when nursing. He desperately wants to get his hands on the IPad, IPhone and remote. And his favorite new toy is mom's water bottle.
Like every other object, he must taste test it.
Dad, enough ESPN already
Shopping buddy at Target. Putting the new found skill to work.
5) Stranger danger. Officially my least favorite development. He's long established that Josh is his MVP. But just yesterday he started distinguishing those he did NOT want around. And sadly it was his adoring Mimi and Pop Pop. He went ballistic every time he looked at his sweet grandmother. I'm hoping this is a one time emotional blowout in protest of the end of football season.
Pre-stranger danger. Either that or any old blonde will suffice (Cousin Jenny).
